HISTORY

Dr. Velecia A. Hulsey received her call into the ministry in 1976, and became the first youth Missionary president of Olivet M.B. Church, under Pastor James C. Davis, Sr.

On August 12, 1978, she was water baptized in Jesus' name at Lively Stone Church of God by Elder Robert K. Buckner, and was filled with the Holy Ghost at Bethesda Temple one month later, where the honorable Bishop James A. Johnson became her pastor and spiritual mentor for 13 years. She received her calling Sept. 1978 into the preaching/teaching ministry, and was licensed under the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., in 1985.

In 1992, God instructed her, as Min. Patterson, to unite with Solid Rock Full Gospel Assembly, to observe Bishop Louise F. Thomas as a role-model, as God began speaking to her about the pastorate. Bishop Thomas willingly accepted her and her three (3) daughters into their fellowship to assist through preaching and teaching, and for their group, “The Elect Lady & Her Children” (established in 1986) to sing. The Lord used Bishop Thomas to confirm the pastorate, and give the name to the ministry as “Footsteps of Jesus Christ Full Gospel Assembly Church”. On November 28, 1993, she was Licensed and Ordained under the Full Gospel Assembly Organization, began having Scripture Studies in her home in January of 1994, and was installed as pastor on May 24, 1994.

On August 21, 1994 Pastor Patterson married Elder Elbert J. Hinton. Bishop Louise F. Thomas performed the ceremony. Later that year, Pastor and Elder Hinton felt led by God to venture out independently: thus, Footsteps of Jesus Christ Apostles’ Doctrine Church, Inc. was birthed (Acts 2:42). Bishop Thomas remains the Spiritual mother over this ministry, and Elder Johnny James (the walking Bible), the Spiritual dad.

In 2002, Elder Hinton was elevated to Bishop. From 2003 to 2005, Footsteps of Jesus Christ expanded to two locations, one in North City, 5509 Lillian, and one in North County, on N. Hwy 67. The Lord later instructed them to return to the home (Romans 16:3-5).

Bishop and Dr. Hinton served Footsteps of Jesus Christ, baptizing many souls in Jesus’ name, working with them to receive the Holy Ghost with the sign of speaking in other tongues, until the Lord called Bishop Hinton home on November 2, 2007.

On October 24, 2010, after 2 dreams (Genesis 41:32) confirmed Dr. Hinton's new husband, she met Minister Dennis E. Hulsey, which was a week later, at Crusade for Christ Christian Church Home, where Minister Earl Jordan is pastor. After a holy 15 month engagement, the Lord blessed them to marry on February 12, 2012 where they experienced their first kiss, when Bishop Louis F. Thomas said “You may now kiss your bride.”

Minister Dennis E. Hulsey was water baptized in Jesus' name on April 21, 1992, and began speaking in tongues as he came up out of the water. Prior to coming to Crusade for Christ in March 2010, he evangelized through Open Air Preaching, and witnessing door to door, from 1992, to 1997. He served as assistant to several pastors that the Lord had sent him to help, from 1997 to 2010. Under Footsteps of Jesus Christ, as instructed by the Holy Ghost, Minister Hulsey was Licensed a minister Dec. 4, 2010; Ordained an Elder July 2, 2011; and Elevated to Bishop on November 10, 2012.

The Lord has done marvelous things with Footsteps of Jesus Christ, using Bishop and Dr. Hulsey as a husband and wife ministry team. Sis. Amber T. Patterson-Fuller, was appointed and certified a Deacon on April 1, 2012. The Lord fully revealed their 7-fold ministry after the 2013-2014 first of the year annual Shut-in and 7-day total fast:

  1. Counseling Ministry: (Isaiah 1:26)And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.” (Pre-marital workshops are conducted, along with marriage counseling, grief counseling, and general counseling in many areas.)

  2. Evangelistic Ministry: (II. Timothy 4:5) “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry,” (Preaching and music ministry engagements are accepted at various houses of God, 3 nursing homes, one childrens' center, and wherever the Lord leads.)

  3. Leadership Training Ministry: (II. Timothy 2:2) “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also,” (Seminars/workshops are conducted in houses of God, and Scripture studies are held weekly in personal homes. Many minsters/pastors have been trained and sent out, and many souls who desire a deeper walk with God, have been enlightened and encouraged.)

  4. Music Ministry: (Colossians 3:16) “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord,” (The groups “The Elect Lady & Her Children”, and “Footsteps of Jesus Christ Music Ministry”, a combination of choral harmony and spoken Word lyrics, minister in music weekly. A “Holy Eve's Gospel Concert” is hosted the last Saturday of each October, which began October 27, 2012, and engagements are booked by request throughout the year. Gospel CD's of the live concert music are produced and sold, in addition to assisting others with their musical and ministry dreams through “Psalmody Power Recording Studio, Inc.”, where Bishop Hulsey is the President.

  5. Outreach / Media Ministry: (St. Matthew 25:34-36, 40) “Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me,” (Annual birth anniversary party for Jesus is held, where needy families are helped during the holiday. The needy are also helped throughout the year. There are also hospital visitations; and a monthly newsletter is sent out entitled “The Epistle of Bishop & Dr. Hulsey to our affiliate ministries”, which began April 2013. Many books and training manuals have been published as well.)

  6. Pastoral Ministry: (Jeremiah 3:15) “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which will feed you with knowledge and understanding,” (Weekly services are conducted in a house of God, including duo preaching and music ministry; and their first wedding ceremony was performed together in August 2013.)

  7. Telephone / Follow-up Ministry: (Acts 15:36) “And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the Word of the Lord, and see how they do,” (Regular contact is made with affiliate ministries, and members, through telephone, e-mail, and visitations.)

Bishop Dennis E. & Dr. Velecia A. Hulsey continue to be open to the leading of the Spirit for the ministry work that He has called them to, together.
