A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Fasting Updates!

Every January, since approximately 2002, we have been consecrating ourselves by participating in a total/partial fast beginning with a Shut in at 10 pm on December 31 until 6 am on January 1, where we will spend eight (8) hours in prayer, testimonies, preaching the Word of God, having special music, and bowing down to worship.  We end the shut in with communion and feet washing.  Beginning at the end of 2018, as we were preparing for the 2019 fast, the Lord spoke and instructed us to have the Shut ins from this point on, during the day time.  So, the 8-hour sessions will begin on December 30 or 31 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm until further notice from the Lord, with a Daniel (partial fast) beginnning at 7:00 pm. on December 31st, until 5:00 pm on January 21st.

As for the partial/Daniel fast:  filtered water will be our main beverage (1/2 ounce per pound of your body weight), for example:  a 120 pound woman would need to drink 60 ounces, or 7.5 glasses of an approved beverage.  We can also consume as a beverage, coffee, pure juices, tea, and lemonaide, with only natural sweetners such as stevia or honey.  But juice drinks, soda, and dairy-based drinks are to be eliminated during the entire fast.  This includes use in cereal.  We recommend soy milk for women, and almond milk for women and men, as these are plant based and not dairy.  We can eat any fresh fruit and vegetable desired.  Eliminate the process of frying and microwaving.  Through research we found that microwaving zaps all the nutrients from your food.  Only baked, broiled, steamed, or grilled foods.  The crockpot is another acceptable way for preparing meals.  Some canned organic items can be eaten, if they are truly organic.  Use only iodized sea salt, or pink hymalayan crystal salt (in moderation) as a seasoning, and any other natural seasonings.  Bread products can only be whole grain, 100% whole wheat, or oat bran.  For the person desiring to shed some pounds, no more than 3 servings that week (for example, 1 serving is one slice if bread, and whatever the package indicates for crackers).  For the person with no weight concerns, you can have up to 2 servings (2 slices of bread) daily.  For the person desiring to shed some pounds, no pasta or rice during this fast.  For those not concerned about weight, only whole grain, any other brand organic, vegan, or whole wheat pastas or rices (without flavor packets).  Regarding meats:  only skinless chicken, skinless turkey, fish, and impossible plant proteins (which can include canned tuna and salmon in water, not oil), and any seafood, like shrimp.  No pork or beef.  Any sauces to enhance the flavor of foods are allowed, but watch the sodium, cholesterol, and sugar contents.  Broths and tomato based sauces are recommended over creamed sauces.  Participants are advised to continue your moderate exercise routines, and doctor prescribed medications, even on total fast days if they can be taken safely without food.  Participants who are on prescription medications, who are advised by your medical professionals to remain on your medications and you desire to follow that instruction, you can do a partial fast on the total fast day, and remain on your prescription medications.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  And make sure you don't miss a day of exercise during this fast.  We believe that anyone who follows this regimine, will feel and be stronger, will be more energized, and will be healthier than in the past.  It may be that because of the fast, the Lord may deliver you from some, if not all medication.  But make sure you have sought the Lord about this, and are hearing from God before stopping anything.  One of our goals is to prepare our bodies in service to God.  He cannot use sick vessels!

As for the total fast:  a total fast does not include food, only water, on days you do not have to work or leave your home, then, you would follow the above instructions for a partial fast. The final day would be the total fast day regardless of the day.

When Jesus fasted 40 days, he only abstained from food.  It states in St. Matthew 4:2 that when His fast was ended, He was hungry, not thirsty.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  We believe that if you are led by the Spirit of God in which direction to take during the fast, that God will keep you in health during these periods of the fast.  In 1 Kings 19:5-7, the prophet Elijah had a great journey ahead of him.  The angel of the Lord instructed him to rise and eat, as he would need the energy, strength, and nourishment given him by food and beverage to accomplish the task before him.  Therefore, in the event that you must leave your place of consecration and seclusion for some ministry or task that the Lord has instructed you in, we say to you, as do the Scriptures, take food for your journey, and resume the fast upon its completion.   Those who are not employed outside of the home, the Lord may lay it upon your heart to do more.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

We continue the total unity fast once monthly on the 3rd Saturday of each month, calling it Fast Sabbath.  This is the Lord's instruction for us.  We are told to tithe everything, and that includes giving up our food and beverages as the Lord leads.

If you care to join us in any of these fasts, please let us be blessed by your testimonies.  We want our bodies to be living sacrifices unto God.  We endeavor to have a lifestyle change as this is not a diet, but, a way of living so that we can all have healtier, stronger, and longer lives while building up God's Kingdom.   Have a Jesus Day!

WISDOM FROM THE WORD!

Exodus 15:26 says,

26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
Proverbs 3:5-8 says,
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be healthc to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
St. Matthew 18:19-20 says,
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
St. John 13:34-35 says,
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

MISSION, NOT IMPOSSIBLE

by Pastor Velecia A. Hulsey

Faith, the definition...

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance (reality with nothing visible) of things hoped for (desired; expected), the evidence (proof) of things not seen.

Romans 8:24

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

........................................................................................................................

Hebrews 11:2, 6

2 For by it (faith) the elders obtained (gained) a good report.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him (God): for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Jeremiah 32:27

Behold, I AM the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?

Genesis 18:13-14

13 And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

St. Luke 18:27

And He said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

St. Luke 17:5-6

5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

James 2:19

Thou believest that there is one God: thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

FAITH IS DEVELOPED

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I. Timothy 4:12

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of (for) the believers, in word, in conversation (manner of life; lifestyle), in charity (love), in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance (presence).

Psalm 147:11

The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy.

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

INSTRUCTIONS

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

James 2:14, 17

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

I. Corinthians 13:13

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
